The second major Star Wars: The Old Republic HD cinematic trailer, released ahead of E3 2010, “Hope” tells the story of a squad of Republic Troopers stationed at Alderaan during the Sith Wars. “Hope” is the first Old Republic cinematic trailer to depict other classes than the familiar Star Wars icons Bounty Hunter and melee-centric Sith Warrior and Jedi Knight.
Centric to the theme of the trailer is once again Darth Malgus, the Sith Warrior who led the sacking of Coruscant in E3 2009 SWTOR cinematic trailer “Deceived”. Different to the appearance in Deceived, Malgus appears a few years younger and minus the breathing apparatus.
Hope
After dealing a decisive strike to Republic stronghold Alderaan, Sith Warrior Malgus, recently promoted to Darth, is ambushed by rogue Republic Troopers. Confident of victory, Darth Malgus is eventually struck down by the Troopers aided by Jedi Consular Satele Shan.
Deceived
The first cinematic trailer from the upcoming MMO Star Wars – The Old Republic.
Darth Malgus and Sith Warriors face off against Jedi Knights at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Besides hinting at Biowares vision for Sith Warrior and Jedi Knight, the trailer features a few short sequences of a Bounty Hunter utilizing a flame thrower and a jetpack.
