The GDC Online Awards organizers today announced the start of the Audience Award, urging online gamers across the globe to vote for their favorite online game. If you want to make your voice heard, go to to cast your vote.

The Game Developers Choice Online Awards is an annual event honoring the best in online gaming. The winners of the 2012’s GDC Award will be announced later in the fall at the Game Developers Conference in October.

When the nominees for the 2012 GDC Awards were announced in July, Star Wars: The Old Republic netted an unprecedented six nominations. SWTOR is nominated for Best Online Game Design, Best Online Visual Arts, Best Online Technology, Best Audio for an Online Game, Best New Online Game, and Online Innovation Award.

Most of the nominees and winners of the GDC Awards are selected by the International Choice Awards Network; a group of 400 game producers and creators from the online gaming industry. However, the winner of the GDC Online Audience Award is selected by popular vote and anyone with an email account can participate.
